Greece
A trip around Athens and Aegina Island
Greece was our honeymoon so it holds a special place in my heart. We had an AirB&B with an amazing view of the Acropolis or "Sacred Rock." I highly recommend taking the hike up from town and spending a day exploring the Parthenon, there is so much history and beauty to take in. The view of the city from above is incredible.

Another hidden gem in Athens is the neighborhood of Anafiotika, the labyrinth of whitewashed buildings on the quiet hillside is a place worth getting lost in. A rooftop lunch and a refreshing drink makes for a perfect day. Views of the city and cool breezes make it easy to relax and live in the moment.
The Plaka District is a popular neighborhood where I scored plenty of great gifts like olive oil soap, wool slippers, scarves and jewelry. This charming neighborhood has many restaurants and bars to choose from. Brettos is a great stop for a drink, make sure you try the traditional liquor of Ouzo! Expect to see musicians playing which makes the atmosphere even that much more magical.

Aigina Island
We took the ferry to Aigina Island for a day trip. We rented a car and drove around the entire island. We stopped by a beautiful church and explored small shrines peppered on a hillside. The views were amazing the entire drive. The Temple of Aphaia was a beautiful hill top temple to explore. We also stopped by a small town to pick up some gifts and ended our day with a delicious lunch. We also spotted an octopus as we waited for the ferry back to Athens!
